What to Wear

We practice Aikido in an Aikido or Judo Dogi or simply gi. Dogis are thicker than the uniforms used for karate and tae kwon do, because we do grabs and holds. Although a gi (or uniform) is not required for a beginner, you will find that it is the most comfortable way to practice. If you have a gi, please wear it.

If you do not have a gi, wear loose, comfortable clothing covering your knees, (i.e. sweats and or thick long sleeve t-shirts) with no zippers, belts or anything that may get caught or stick out. Please remove jewelry, watches, and necklaces before getting on the mat. If you would like to you may order a gi through the Dojo at any time.
